It's been ages since I took a quiz. This was nabbed from viola_cesario & sensefille (though I get the feeling it will soon be showing up in others' journals!):

Now how did I guess you'd get Col. Brandon? :) Whom did you get without cheating?

So you've seen and read Sense & Sensibility or just one? It has been quite a few years (probably since it was first on video) since I've seen S&S. I've even had it on DVD for a few months, but I still haven't seen it yet. I'm hoping Chris will watch it with me since he enjoyed seeing two versions of Pride & Prejudice. He is adamant that Colin Firth is superior to Olivier as Mr. Darcy. (See, I knew what I was doing when I picked him out!)

Mr Knightly, same as you.

I've seen S&S, but not P&P. I think I do need to convince Eric to watch that one night. Mr. Firth is a worthy Darcy.

We did rent Wuthering Heights with Ralph Fiennes. Did he get a chin implant. His face looks much better than I remembered. It was recommended because he had many Snapey qualities. I haven't read the book, or seen any others, but I did quite like it. Not enough to need to own it though.

I think Wuthering Heights with Fiennes was early 90s (92?), so that was before The English Patient. I never noticed his chin.

I own Wuthering Heights on VHS, but I thought it was only so-so as far as Bronte sister or Austen adaptations go. The reason I own it is because I wrote a paper on it a couple years ago (my thesis concentrated on a specific scene in the movie and how it undermined Nelly's authority as a woman and working-class woman - as opposed to the book's Nelly). Any time I have to write a paper drawing heavily from a movie, I like to own it so that I can keep it out as long as I need it and can rewind over parts many times. I believe it just came out on DVD this year, but I probably won't bother to replace my VHS. In fact, I'm trying to sell/give away all my VHS as part of my clutter reduction efforts.
