Laptop Woes

The icing on the cake of this day from hell was when I found out an hour ago that my laptop, which was in the shop for 2 months and has been back for a week is broken again. It won't boot and keeps giving me the same 5-line error message over and over, filling the screen. It's going back into the shop today. The laptop is only 10 months old and

OMG, I can't believe they did that! Is there any chance that someone can recover the information? I'm so sorry! I would be so angry...you really would think there'd be some type of legal action you can take for destruction of private property, especially with the specific instructions not to touch the hard drive. :(:(:( I hope they can do something to fix it this time :/

I'm having similar troubles with my laptop - also a Toshiba. Their customer care people were extremely lax about ringing back when they said they would, organising what they said they would, or even keeping my file up to date. I had to have it fixed last November because all my drivers became corrupted, and the graphics chip wasn't up to standard. Now the CPU, hard drive, motherboard, fans - everything except for the casing has to be replaced.

In short - I am never, ever buying Toshiba again.

I am so sorry to hear about the data loss you suffered. That was incredibly, incredibly incompetent of them, and if I were you, I would sue them for the cost of all that you've lost. Good luck with your repairs this time around!
