Last I updated on the baby was 5 weeks ago, and it was estimated at just over an inch. I'll be 17w tomorrow, and it should be over 5". My ultrasound (2nd of the pregnancy) from almost 2 weeks ago showed it at 4½". My lower belly is definitely sticking out, and I noticed it was getting awkward to sit in those tiny desks with my monster 16" laptop. My belly kept trying to push away the laptop.
The 15w ultrasound was ordered up because I was bleeding (brown-pink but copious - enough to soak 2 pads) at 14w. I hadn't had even the slightest spotting since the 8-9w thing. I had the ultrasound at my old OB's office (since I was forced to meet with a back-up OB at some point in the pregnancy anyhow), and the tech discovered what may be a "sinus" filled with blood adjacent to the placenta. She said if they found something similar at my next ultrasound (this coming Monday) that they may want to order up a more detailed one to check it out. But at least there appears to be nothing wrong with the placenta - which would go beyond mere "let's keep an eye on it" to extreme concern, possibly bedrest. For that I'm grateful.
ultrasound #2 My friends' and family's gender guesses have been pretty evenly split between boy and girl. Ultrasound #3 is in 6 days, and we're hoping to find out then (we didn't get a view on the last one).
