I'm sorry. I HAVE to rant about this from the NAGCR chat group about the cost of the AGM ($50):

Re: [Towerbells-L] AGM banquet

I think $42 for a dinner is great value for money in 2007. I would
like to think that most ringers, whether students or not, would also
agree.

Great value?? I can take Jenne to Olive Garden and BOTH of us eat for less then ( Read more... )

Yeah. $42 for one person, maybe. But when you're talking about a couple it starts getting pricey. I don't know any students who regularly dropped the equivalent of $42 on a night out.

I agree that it seems a bit pricey by US standards, particularly considering the travel expenses involved. (Where is the AGM being held?)
But don't slander the English Ringers' Tea. Famous for egg & cress sandwiches, quiches, home-made cakes and STRONG tea--by the gallon! There's a chapter in one of Steve Coleman's books devoted to them!
County AGM's do have sit-down dinners (about 10 GBP each, usually catered by the host district, but I don't know about Central Council AGM prices.
You don't have to go to the dinner to attend the meeting and take advantage of the other activities do you?
