            The intersection of 14th St. S and University Blvd has never been my favorite. A cross walk runs over two lanes too an island in the center of four lanes of traffic which then has another cross walk that covers the other two lanes to the opposite side of the street. Yesterday I was working on putting up the tenor (right)with different size boxes as it is quite difficult to get it chiming and keep it so. I had put it up wrong twice and taken it back down. Third times the charm. So up it went sounding right all the way up. Almost had it up, gave it one last pull and up it went.... right out of my hands. I ( Read more... )

Neil hand picked a few of the guys form the crew that built the tower to actually install the bells. One of these guys died in a car accident last week. Our first, not service, ringing was for his funeral last Wed. The bells are half muffled for lent and we rang the back 6. It sounded wonderful! It was a very bitter sweet moment.
