Job offer

I received a job offer that I really can't afford to pass up.

How do you "break up" with the current job you have worked for 5 years? What's the tactful way of putting in a two weeks notice?

Write a resignation letter, walk into your boss's office, sit down with the door closed and explain to him that you appreciate everything you have learned in this position. Tell him you have an opportunity that you can't pass up. Make sure not to burn your bridge in case you ever want to go back. Also, thank your boss for the opportunity he/she gave you.
