Gosh, honey, it's not an obituary! We're really hoping it's a blessing in disguise. There are some incredible possibilities on the horizon. Just keep your fingers crossed!
It likely will be a blessing in disguise, and I think he's probably better prepared to handle it than others. I'll definitely keep my fingers crossed on your behalf. :D
He responded to a poll on MSNBC.com which asked something to the effect of how has the economic/financial crisis impacted you? He responded that this is the second time in x number of years that he's been laid off, that his is supposed to be one of the "safe" banks, and that the area of the bank he works in is the most profitable. They found it interesting that this is the second time he's been through this, so they did a telephone interview, some follow up questions, and then sent the photojournalist to take a few pics for the article.
I was SO scared they were going to turn him into another "Joe the Plumber"! But I think she played up the positive side of things and that there IS hope! At least he has a marketable skill set. So many factory workers who've been laid off don't. Things could be MUCH worse.
