sayin a lot in a little

a lot has been going on the past few weeks and i havent found the time to really update.

last weekend was busy/fun/extremely tiring.

first, APEX youth olympics. yes, this is the same community service event i went to last year and REALLY enjoyed. I dont know why this year was so different. it could have been because the kids were much older this time (many many high schoolers). it could have been that the team leaders this year were either lazy or immature. it could have been countless things. but im happy that i met up with the kids who were in my team last year. they remembered me! =)

we had to get up at 7 on a saturday for this event. so rather than all meeting up and coordinating car rides, we just decided to have a sleepover, watching family guy and drinking beer.

so after that, i got back to UCLA, showered, and headed out to All CAL, (otherwise known as 5ive), where 5 UC's send their hip hop teams to compete against one another. the venue turned out WAY COOLER than i thought it would have. union station banquet hall didnt seem very great at first. but when i got there, i thought the stage was great. it's just a closed part of the train station where people use to wait and pay for tickets.

cool no?

so for the performances, I got the job of counter. I had to make sure that each team had at most, 21 people on stage at the same time. they added another job later on...mopper. I had to mop the floor with one of those swiffers in between each dance set (so i had around 1 minute or less) It was tough work, but duly appreciated. i got a few cheers from the crowd as i mopped that floor good. =)

after the performances, the station became a dance floor. the dj was pretty good with the choice of music, but the lights weren't dim enough. overall, i had a fun night =)

*dont ask me why he's putting his ass up, or why it looks like im gonna slap it.

*she makes me happy =D

so besides that crazy weekend, i also decided to run for ACA staff again, as General Rep. it wasn't a spur of the moment thing. this past quarter has really made me enjoy being on staff. the sense of camaraderie is just so....i cant even put it into words. it's cool to have such chill people you can hang with anytime. next year will be particularly great because there are so many returning staffers. while i will miss the ones who will be leaving, i cannot wait to start a brand new school year with these people i've built such bonds with (oh, and i look forward to bonding with new staffers as well). Congrats to all who made it!

ok this is one long ass entry and im getting tired. fin.
