new hair!

I finally did it. After years of the same damn hair, I went out and got a new haircut.

So on Friday, I went with Gloria, Jess, and Tina to the Vidal Sassoon Institute (I honestly am too lazy to check if I spelled that right) to get our hair cut. It was just a spontaneous thing to do. Cat had told me weeks..no, months before that I should go check it out, since she got her hair cut there and really liked it. It had always crossed my mind to get a different haircut, but I never did. I convinced myself that I was too damn lazy to get a new hairstyle. Deep down, I think I was just scared of change.

Anywho, this was, by far, the most expensive haircut I have ever paid for. Usually, I can get my hair cut by the lady in the Hong Kong Super market for $5, plus $1 tip. THIS haircut cost me $20! *it's supposed to be $10 for students, but they weren't offering that deal for the time that we set up an appointment. So for $20, I got a student to practice on my head.

The process was pretty simple. I sat down, told him generally what I wanted (it's lame now that I think of it, but I simply told him to make me more "hip") and then sat there, watching him cut away at my hair, while a teacher walked around making sure everything was alright. The whole 2 hours was pretty scary. Yes...2 hours. *this was also the longest haircut I have ever gotten, since my usual ones are like 10 minutes. The guy who cut my hair, Greg, was a Chinese fellow from...yes...Rowland Heights. It was fate or something man...this guy knew where I usually got my hair cut! He was, however, a very shaky guy. He couldnt keep his hands steady if his life depended on it. At one point, he had his hand on the side of my head, and my whole head started vibrating.

All in all...fun experience.
