When the school district pays me, they actually need to PAY me. Last month they were over $100 short on my paycheck. This time they're over $400 short. I'm far from amused by this. I worked those days and I expect to be paid for them.

WTF? How can they just not pay you? I hope you have records of your time--copies of time cards or some other proof. $100 is bad enough, but $400? JFC, in Missouri that's RENT!

Edited to say that I know that unhelpful comment is unhelpful, but I am angry on your behalf. *rabble rabble rabble*

Last time they said they didn't have a budget code. They could have told me. Or called the school. This time, I don't know. I'm calling Monday morning and heading over their after I work my shift at Top Dog to harass them.

What does that even mean? Like, they couldn't afford to pay you so too bad? FFS. That's what my current job did to me when I started--offered me one level of pay and when my check was at a lower rate of pay and I said something they said it wasn't in their budget to start new hires any higher than that. THEN WHY DID YOU OFFER IT TO ME. Now both of those managers have quit and been replaced, and I'm still getting paid the lower rate because the new managers don't have to honor what the old managers promised...as far as they're concerned, their offer never happened.

Actually, yeah that's what's going on, but there's something else too. Each time I take a sub job I get a job number which they can look up and see where I worked, for how long, and who I replaced. Then there's the budget number and that's the school's code number, and each school has one ( ... )

That is unacceptable. I have Legal Shield and will ask advice on this from my lawyer.

I went to the district office and they said that for all preschool jobs I have to fill out a paper and getting it signed confirming that I worked there. I used to have to do this at every school but they said they'd gone paperless (which I guess was half true). They assured me they'd pay me everything they owe on the 15th.
