Well this holiday at least was invented by the Irish. They'd all wear green so that St. Patrick could tell who was on his side and who was against him and if you didn't wear green you could count on getting pinched all day by those who were.

Didn't you read earlier dude? St. Patrick stole from the Scottish to give to the Irish so they wore green to let him know who they were.
