In my opinion, those Yggdrasil sends home is completely random.

There is no direct rhyme or reason I could find for who goes home and who doesn't, some have been here years without being sent home once and others are here less than a few weeks and get sent back.

Not quite, what I'm suggesting is perhaps he isn't the only controlling who leaves but a more natural system of things or just something random like what causes the viruses.

I know he draws us in but there is no reason to think he is the one putting us back. Wouldn't he want as many fighters here as possible to save this world?
