Signed on the Dotted Line...

Seeing Lindsey McDonald step out of the back of the limo just down the street from the Hyperion sent a chill through Faith's spine. Last time she had been across the table from him, he was hiring her to kill Angel. Now Angel was out of the picture for the most part, and here he was once more. Faith had to admit that at least the guy had a pattern ( Read more... )

There was nothing but silence the whole way, Lindsey couldn’t complain about that. He liked the idea of watching Faith right now, seeing how she would respond to stuff. Last time he had contact with her things didn’t turn out for the good. Seemed like everyone had a some sort of soft spot for Angel. Guess he brings out the best of you in a certain sense, because of him Faith decided to go to jail, which of course ruined Lindsey’s plans. Because of Angel Lindsey came to some sort of crazy idea in his head that he needed to change. Switch to the good side or something like that. Luckily idea’s like that don’t last for long, Lindsey realized that and it seems that Faith realized the same. A tiger can’t change it’s stripes ( ... )

Faith watched him as he wandered about. He was making her nervous a bit, avoiding her question, buying his time. She knew that she had stepped over the line, and looking back didn't seem an option. She toyed with the idea of playing both sides of it, but had a feeling that whatever contract she signed would have a heavy price if she got caught. Faith knew this side of the line better than most, maybe not as well as Lindsey, but still she wasn't out of her element just yet ( ... )

He liked a good argument. Guess that’s what the point of being a lawyer; to prove your point. Of course he hadn’t had any real felid action for awhile, “Good tries to fit in Faith.” Lindsey slowly turns to look her in the eyes “But as you see good never lasts. Just look at Angel…where is the champion now? Still fighting the good fight here or did he just abandon the city.” He gives a coy smile. “So there is your answer. Yes, he really is gone.” Of course there were many different reasons on why Angel could’ve left, Lindsey even had a feeling that Wolfram and Hart might know. Not that they would tell him, least not yet. Even if they did or didn’t know the truth was Angel was gone and most likely wasn’t his choice, really why would the champion Angel just leave. Lindsey was just as much curious about it as Faith probably was, only difference was he wouldn’t show it and would use the mystery to play off of.

"Fuck it. Goldilockes and her three bears want to go on a treasure hunt for him, let them. They'll need him on their side now that ( ... )

Faith glanced over to Lindsey as she moved away from the window casually taking inventory of her new apartment. Her hand fit around a solid marble paperweight that was probably more for decoration than actual weighting of papers, but it didn't change the heavy feel of it in her hand. Cold and solid, it fit into her palm easily and she could feel the space it left when she set it back down. She tried to press her mind back into thinking that everything around her was a weapon. Years behind bars and she had taken that part of her mind off for a while. She couldn't use anything as a weapon in there without getting time added on, or getting put into solitary ( ... )
