Putting something together...

Willow was amazed at the amount of work that Fred had already put into the actual research. They had been at the Hyperion for only a few hours but Willow felt like they had been reviewing notes for days. Comprehensive was a word Willow liked to use, instead of anything relating to being obsessive. Most of the notes though had nothing actually to do ( Read more... )

Fred watched Willow carefully as she went through her notes, for some reason wanting the girl to be impressed with them, to not find any obvious holes. Maybe not in what they knew really, because they really didn't know all that much. Just in how she'd reached that conclusion, officially. And maybe, mostly, she didn't want to believe that for all the time she'd spent trying to fix this, the answer might've been staring at her, right in the face. There was something about that, chaning it from just failing, to becoming something closer to a failure.

Fred liked puzzles. But this one'd been giving her grief for so long. And there was so much that was so very, very important on the other side of it.

"Well," she finally answered Willow's question. "He's not all 'grrrr' exactly. He has teeth and all, but they're not that sharp." Fred remember Connor's return to the hotel, and what it had been like. "But he does have a temper, a very chip sized temper that for the longest time had everything to do with Angel ( ... )

Buffy was still feeling on the side of numb and really she thought that was probably for the best. She hadn't gotten to angry or depressed yet so numb was a good place to lay stagnant in right? She was sitting with Willow and Fred trying to go over everything to figure out where Angel was ( ... )

Tara carried the tray into the room, setting it on the table. "I-I brought some tea." She spoke softly, not wanting to interrupt their research, but trying to help. "I thought you guys could use it, though coffee may have been a better choice. For the keeping you up factor and all and I'll just be shutting up now." She laughed nervously, rolling her eyes at herself. This wasn't a time for laughter she reminded herself as she took a deep breath.

Pouring the steaming liquid into 2 small cups, she carried them over and took a seat by Willow. She gave her a small grin as she placed one within her girlfriend's reach. Her eyes fluttered over the rest of the women at the table, pausing briefly on Buffy. She smiled softly at the Slayer, who seemed to be doing better since they'd arrived. Well, better considering the circumstances anyway.

"H-how is the research coming along?" She asked, taking a sip of her own tea.

"Staked? Like -" Willow sounded shocked to hear the suggestion and made a small staking gesture with her hand in the air as her face had a look of disbelief, "I don't think... I mean... No. No? No." Willow tried to sound convincing, but the fact that the topic had been brought up, and by Buffy, it just made things seem a lot more serious a lot faster. The thought on the table was that it could be Connor, or that somehow Connor being missing now had something to do with it all. His father was missing, and Willow assumed that with all the effort he tried to show according to Fred would still have been here when they showed up. Instead they showed up and Connor vanished, which wasn't exactly suspicious, but it did lend toward a lovely consipiracy theory ( ... )
