I just realized we lost several thousand dollars over the past week in investments.
I've been reading both sides of the story about the whole debt ceiling debate. All I have to say is: What a crock of sh*t. I'm so disappointed by the government. -
Religion
When I left, one of my favorite nurses surprised me by giving me some medical supplies, a copy of the book More than a Carpenter and a Cantonese Bible along with a long heartfelt letter about how she didn't want to pressure me, how she loved me, and hoped that one day I would pick up the books and read them.

Being a homeowner
I have one more week left of work!
To celebrate, the universe has decided to do the following:
1. Break my spare refrigerator (where I store all my stocked up on sale foods). I think I'll be buying a deep freezer tomorrow.
2. Break a sink

The Roomba
Last month Jason bought me a Roomba for my birthday.
I'm enamoured.
There's nothing better than not worrying about the mess your friends leave behind because they were eating cookies and the crumbs are all over the floor.

Braised Short Ribs!
Before Jason left for his business trip two weeks ago, I decided to make him a special dinner. So I made him Pioneer Woman's Braised Short Ribs.
