It was, thoughtfully, that she decided that she might need something else first. She thought that Amshel and Nathan said they would be returning to check on her sometime today or tomorrow, so it wouldn't be that surprising if that explosion was their fault. Not really, anyways. In either case, she might need more strength than she had at that moment ( ... )

Diva shrugged, delicately picking up the body and tossing it unceremoniously into one of the stalls. The horse stamped its feet and tossed its head, but didn't move enough for Diva to push the blame on the horse. She stepped closer, trying to make it angry, but it only snorted, tossing its head more ( ... )

Chances are, it was going to be Amshel or Solomon and be fairly boring. She had a feeling that once she found them, she might have to leave, so she grabbed the Grimm fairytales book as well as the book of poetry by Lord Byron, just in case. She'd hate to have to leave Sam's gifts behind. She wrapped the rough, but necessary scarf around her nose and mouth before she quietly left her room.

It was night, so most of the people here were asleep, but those that were still awake stared at her as she left, but they didn't bother (or perhaps, dare) to ask where she was going. She left out the front door, and soon tugged the scarf out of her face, wrapping her books in it to try and keep them a bit safer. Diva held the books close, but sighed as she looked out to the light burning in the distance.

She wondered if taking the road or the forest would be faster.

A) Take the road
B) Take the forest

She decided the road would be easier. It was less likely, for one thing, that she would get the habit dirty. They didn't like that at all, and had yelled at her in her past (or is it present, now?) when she had went out and soiled the clothing that she had borrowed. Diva padded quickly along the newly paved road. The asphalt still smelled strongly, and she remembered hearing the nuns complain about the work when they had actually done so. It was a new thing, mostly for military vehicles, but Diva definitely would rather run along the asphalt than cobblestone, that was true.

The smell of the fire as she drew closer was making her uncomfortable, so she held the books closer to her chest, wrinkling her nose.

It was all of the sudden, but a shot tore through her leg, and she tumbled to the ground with a small gasp.

So much for keeping the habit clean.

A) Look to see where it came from
B) Grab the books that feel out of her hands
C) Try and stand

She was about to leave the room at that, but seeing the coat on the hanger, she grabbed it on a whim. It was only for keeping up appearances, really, since this cold wouldn't bother her, but to run out into the night without it would probably seem odd. Or, that's what she assumed. Diva tugged the coat on quickly, as she was leaving, and also threw the rough scarf around her mouth. It didn't quite make it to her nose, but trying to get the bulky coat on was distracting ( ... )

Diva decided to be a bit safer as she went into the darkness. As safe as Diva could think of, anyways. Somehow, it didn't seem like Sam would approve either way. Diva padded silently over the soft ground, only seeming to be a shadow in the already dark woods. Stealth was the thing that she was best at, though she knew that it wasn't true in "this" time. It was actually not until she lived in Vietnam, but she had been absolutely silent as she padded through the jungles for the sole purpose of protecting that very precious village.

It would have been the same now, if not for that stupid coat. Diva was almost there, and was even being more careful with where her feet fell, but the bulky coat grabbed onto a nearby branch, snapping it loudly from even the seemingly light touch of her gait.

She still didn't make a sound, just silently cursed herself for wearing the stupid coat.

Or, well, she would have. There was a familiar click of bang of a fired gun, then the whole world disappeared.

((THAT SHE MAY BE. She's still making fun of Sam, ( ... )
