Hmmm. You have too much going on. You have taken on a large amount of volunteer activities and there's not much time left for writing. Somewhere in this, you have to decide how important the writing is and then make time for it. I hear you. I run a house, a kid, the finances, and a business. Days can slip away with "noise."
Nancy Kress suggested 1 hour a day for writing. Just one focused hour. I'm working on that. I don't think averages of 1 hour a day count. I think it's actually supposed to be 1 hour a day. A part-time job. Because you can't do it full-time right now.
Yes, to the too much going on! But the writing is definitely important, and happening. It's the revising that's suffering. I am trying to sort of shift my mindset to it being a part-time job, and a priority. Because the writing is fun! Fluffy! Light & rewarding! And the revising? More closely resembles work...
An hour a day is eminently do-able. And I am going to do it. Thx, Oz. : )
*laughs* OH, yes. My life is exactly the way I planned! I start every morning with a peaceful cup of tea and then I work on writing the Next Big Thing and a literary masterpiece and I still have time to fix my hair beautifully and cook amazing meals from scratch and my kids do all their chores without nagging and my horses are perfect pleasure rides and the dogs never drag dead things to the front porch and I don't kill any houseplants because I've forgotten to water them and I never have a dusty house because I have time to clean every surface perfectly and...

...er, maybe not. Actually, my life looks a little like yours. *high five* Here's to navigating chaos and hanging on to dreams despite everything. :D
