So the fallow time just stretches on and on, like a cat that wakes up from a nap, stretches and yawns, only to curl up and promptly fall asleep again. Hello? Muse? Inner writer? Anyone?

I've read all kinds of tricks (the most common being to leave your story in the midst of something exciting) -- but for me, it's almost like I'm watching a movie in my head, and I just pause it when I have to stop. That works pretty well (though, in all honesty, if I take longer than a few months, I get sick of the movie before I can get myself to finish -- oops).

For the story I'm working on now, I'm trying to put together an "inspiration journal." So much of where the story came from is visual that I figure if I can put it all together, it can be not only a source of inspiration, but a way to sort of transition and ease my drop back into that world when I'm writing. At least...I hope! ; ) I don't do nearly as much artwork now as I'd like to...mostly just doodling. I wish there were more than 24 hours in a day so I could give attention to all the things I'd like to do!! I'm sure you can relate to that. ; ) How goes the doctoring?
