so my october pretty much sucked uber hardcore, with the black eye (not from anything cool) and the second degree burn (still got the scar!) and just the general now i feel really fucking old and still haven't done anything of any importance with my life whatsoever thingy going on...so october sucked...a lot

I think that bartending sounds like a great idea. It is definitely more you scene and it isn’t so high school either. Once you have experience too, you can move up to more expensive bars and clubs, which pay better. Maybe, you could even work in Manhattan. One bottle of Gray Goose and you’ve got half your rent in tips! Also, you’re more likely to meet SOMEBODY in the music scene in a club than at Starbucks… There are a lot of avant-garde and 12-bit composers at clubs… Not quite opera, but they might know people who know people…
