Here are some suggestions:

Caitlin R Kiernan's book Silk blew me away
It's a Gothic novel about a group of young outsiders in Birmingham Alabama in the 90s haunted by their pasts.

Anything by Nalo Hopkinson, speculative fiction author, but especially her short story collection Skin Folk.

Petra has been reading an amazing series by Libba Bray starting with A Great and Terrible Beauty, also speculative Gothic fiction set in Victorian England about a gifted girl who inherits family duties in another realm and must, of course, save the world from patriarchy.
