Neat! Althought I find the Appa cleaning thing a little odd; I suppose it's most relevant when they're in cities or inhabited places and stuff. Otherwise, as a flying creature, I'd guess Appa does it wherever. And the prospect of flying bison poop from the heavens should terrify even the most staunch bender. As a species, they were probably attacked on sight when they flew overland, restricting their habitats to over the oceans or virgin forests. Maybe that's why they're largely extinct.

Also, needs a last line from Sokka, if only it weren't so used already through the series:

"Well, you know what happens when water and earth mix," Sokka yawned, crawling into his sleeping bag. "You get mud."

1) This is good. Really good, and opens the way to more, which is also good. But...

2) Damn your hide, Golden Boy. I was planning on doing this exact thing this weekend. I had an outline going and everything, and you beat me to one of the climaxes. -_-

This is a pretty cool story, very well written and all. Though I have to admit, I haven't seen any of Avatar, sadly. I've heard really good things about it, though. Maybe I should invest in a DVD or two of the series...

Also: seeing fanfiction of good quality show up like this makes me want to get back in the swing of continuing my own stories.
