I came over from firefly99's journal cos I am on an Avatar high and wanted to see what it was you thought.
THANK YOU FOR PHRASING THIS HOW I COULDN'T
But because the entire movie is alive with the childish joy in finding something new. The joy we all had, once - the joy of opening a new present on Christmas
THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT I LOVED ABOUT IT! And maybe why the unnecessary hating is pissing me off. Where is the inner child?! :D
We agree on something. Beyond that, we both feel strongly about it
I'm not going to add to your statements though, I don't need to.
Although, I would suggest that if someone goes to see it with others and doesn't like it, I would recommend they go see it again. Movies are affected by the audience and if you see this with someone whose eyes and ears are closed.....whether yours are or not...you won't like it, because ignorance is contagious.
a movie shouldn't only be entertaining for its only viewing. shouldn't movies stretch beyond the screen and actually provoke the viewer? shouldn't movies be able to make viewers emote in a meaningful manner and truly ponder the issues that movies bring up?
You were doing so well until you said this.
While I'm definitely a proponent of film as one of the most interesting media fields of artistic expression, I also know that most art is subjective. I find art in Pandora and in expression of one man's expensive creative vision. Other people - you included - can yell at me until the cows come home about how retarded certain aspects of this movie are, and how it's a terrific shame this movie's getting such top billing while movies like, say, Let The Right One In are snubbed at the box office, but that won't change a single thing about how I view this movie. This movie provoked me. It made me emote - well, about how meaningful my expletives were would probably involve an entire study into the finer points of cussing in three
