A: Because it has layers.

(I was commenting this morning that it takes me 2-3 times more time to get dressed in the winter than in the summer because of the additional layers of clothing, and one thought led to another.)

I referenced the same piece of dialogue in a facebook post back on that day when we were in single digits. The ensuing dialogue in the comments got rather entertaining. (Well, I thought it did, anyway.)

I was tempted to start calling super cold days ogre days.
