Oh, lovely. I can tell by this piece that I'll be reading the rest of your fics.
I love how Kankurou's want to be a brother is warring with the love for Gaara.

yet he knows that Temari is watching with her cat-glance.

For some reason this makes me shiver. I can really imagine this scene. <3

When he met Gaara in the hall this time, Kankurou doesn’t hold back.

Should be "meets" for present tense.

Lovely job.

Short and sweet, good job. :)

Might want to change 'talking', to 'speaking', just for a little more flow. Though, that is just me being nitpicky.
