CHARACTER NAME: Kadaj Spero (no canon last name)

FANDOM: Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children

AGE: 15

YEAR: 5th

HOUSE: Slytherin

BLOOD: Half-blood

PERSONALITY: Kadaj is a very unstable character. While he often gives the appearance of being calm and in control, if the right subjects are brought up he’ll often turn sadistic and lose all good judgment within a second. While he enjoys violence, he doesn't do it pointlessly. Or, at least that’s what he thinks. Despite being highly intelligent and wise in his own way, Kadaj is still stubborn and more than a little self-righteous. He’s also naïve, very naïve. Living a sheltered life despite everything, Kadaj has very little patience and understanding of why and when things don’t go his way.

Other than his volatile nature, one of Kadaj’s most outstanding features would be his determination. When it comes to his goals, Kadaj will go to any means necessary to reach them, ignoring his limits. In his mind he has no limits, and he’ll bring himself to the brink of destruction and a little past that just to prove he’s right/please someone.

Trust is an issue with Kadaj. He despises liars and being lied to--one of his many naïve traits--and while it seems it was always him who was meant to act as a leader when necessary, he’d usually probably be too untrusting to act as anything else anyway. In fact, his distrust very often borders on hatred. The only exception to this rule is his mother. Despite being unreachable right now, she’s the center of his universe, his existence. He’s a blind follower and he’s used to having her as sort of a guiding light for his actions.

Also, Kadaj often has feelings of inadequacy. Though in the end it only strengthens his drive to prove himself--not only to his relatives, but to everyone.

HISTORY:

Kadaj was the fourth born to a muggle man and wizard woman, the former of which had questionable motives and the latter a complete enigma. At first, life was pleasant. Their father was cruel, both in words and actions, for Kadaj was somewhat gifted. He wasn’t incredibly strong, and he wasn’t a genius, but he was quick in his words and movements, and was able to at a young age discern the weaknesses of others, decades older than him and apply them against themselves. Of course, he was more of a brat. But if anything, Kadaj was able to manipulate people to the point where it became a ‘game’ for him, and he had no understanding of normal, kinder social interactions. With his unique appearance which had to do with albinism, and already being a half-blood, he was often shunned by his peers. This suited his father though, and as for Kadaj, he didn’t care. It could have been the most terrible day in the world, but as long as he could see his mother, with her cold smile yet comforting words, everything would be all right. Other than his brothers, she would be the only one he would show his true self to, dedicating all the time he had with pleasing her. He studied magic, even if he could not perform it, and he thrived.

Then, one day when Kadaj was ten, she just suddenly disappeared without warning. No one ever explained it to him, even though his father was acting strange. She just. Was gone.

And he became bitter.

Kadaj hated people. Not just muggles, half-bloods or purebloods, he hated them all. In the end, in his mind they were all the same. More than anyone though, Kadaj hated his father, and he would get his revenge.

He couldn’t do it just yet, as much as he wanted to charge in. He needed to get stronger and learn magic.

During that year, Kadaj made quite a local name for himself, and not in a good way. People who hadn’t taken him seriously before now did. His peers feared him, and their parents would threaten. The pain was still fresh though, and he never went too far, and never used magic. Regardless, it was a wonder he received a letter from Hogwarts. On one hand, he thought himself to be above it. On the other, it was the perfect opportunity.

So, he took it. While he doesn’t view Hogwarts as his home, it’s an improvement from where he came from, and he spends as much time there as possible. After his first year, his father became negligent and focused on who-knows-what, so he spends his summers running around wherever he can. Now, Kadaj learns what he can, keeping it away in his head for future use, so that one day he can be the one with the upper hand and eventually find his mother again. In the meantime, he has often made a confuse portrayal of himself. On one hand, he can be very talkative, almost friendly even. On the other, he won’t hesitate to pick apart someone’s flaws and continue to insult them until they’ve been verbally beaten to the ground.

RELATIONSHIPS: Soon.
