So! FFXIV is out :D Finally get to REALLY test out my new compy, and turns out... well, I do need a new graphics card. At least if I wanna play at anythin' above minimum

Okay, wait a minute. I still remember you telling me about your new-at-the-time Vista gaming rig, with the big monitor and the what, 4 GBs of RAM? And now you've got a new computer that's better than that one, and it can barely run FFXIV? >.o What gives?
Only problem is my graphics card holding it back. It runs perfectly fine on the low end of the settings, but if I push it up too high the FPS starts to drop exponentially =/
The graphics card is oooold though, it's the only thing I didn't bother to replace when I built this new one, so it's understandable really. The rest of my specs are well over the reccommended settings, but my card is just barely over required minimum, I think.
Anyway! The specs I never got around to posting: The amazingly awesome Antec 902 case :D (plus a neon blue case light from my old case, to make it glow even shinier blooo than the lighted fans do XP) Intel Core i7-930 2.8GHz quad-core 8 gigs DDR3-1333 RAM 60gig SSD for Windows and certain programs and stuff, plus the old 400gig plain ol' SATA HDD from my old compy. 750W modular PSU a relatively inexpensive Blu-ray drive >.> Aaaand my good ol' nVidia 9800GT 512MB from the old compy. That's what I'm thinking of upgrading to an ATI 5000-series card sometime, if I've got the cash to spare.

A 512 MB graphics card will barely run FFXIV? Either that's one seriously high-end game, or I'm way behind the times! Or both.
