And now you know where the term "trainspotting" comes from.

Great entry! I'm glad that I'm not the only person who loves riding the trains and looking out the windows... and seeing how beautiful it is. Too many people don't even bother too look out the windows, or they look out and see dirt and garbage and dilapidated houses. I've loved riding the trains and looking out at everything since I moved to my first big city, Chicago, several years back. Now I love doing the same thing in Philly.

That story about you singing to the ipod, the woman joining in, and soon the whole train joining in ROCKS!! One reason that would never happen in Philly is because the train basically shuts down at midnight or 1 or something ridiculous (I always drive when I know I'll be out late, so I don't know exactly when it stops... but it's too early).

Trains in Philly are evil. Philly's just not a place where people should expect a to do experience life without having to put up with a car. I always wished they would change that, but ah well.

I loooooooove Chicago, tho.

When they first opened the subway they put curtains over the front window because they were worried people would crowd the front of the train to look out.
