I saw Garden State tonight at the Azalea Square theaters. To sum up the movie in one word: 'beautiful'
The trailers nature really speaks for itself.

Um, and thats about it, besides feeling ditched by every company known to man.

Its kind of guy is numb to world, world is numb to guy, girl randomly appears, crazy stuff happens and they live ever after.

ah, okay. a girl randomly appears and everything is made right

but still the same basic plot in every romance, girl likes guy, guy likes girl, *insert other plot element here*
OR to make it more interesting, they throw in another random plot element

well I'm off to drive my annoying little sister somewhere, then I have to mow the lawn

ooooh... I've got a new plot twist. Lawnmower meets grass, grass meets lawnmower... lawn mower shreds grass *insert random lawnmowing blade*.

heh... but yeah, its pretty much a cliche plot drive... and although he found love, that wasn't the whole story, but it was part of making him feel 'alive' and feeling 'alive' was the point of the movie.

and Natalie Portman is cute; can't beat her smile.
