The number of people (at least 3 conversations) that assume for some reason (possibly because I'm a male living in sydney) that I care about football in general..and the State of Origin in particular.
Lately the media has raised issue with the number of workplaces that somehow quantify the millions of dollars lost through low productivity due to people spending their time on social networking sites - what I don't see are the same statistics raised for the amount of time many employees spend arranging tipping competitions for this "activity".
Very good point. I remember back when my old work used to run one. Total waste of time. All those people thinking they show off their knowledge of teams by picking the winners.. and I came second picking home teams and random others.
closest I ever got to being a fan was back when I was a kid and you could collect those footy card with the bubblegum. Used to have contests with mates flicking them against walls.. whoever got closest to the wall wins both cards.
