Lessons learned: do not try to drive to Pentagon City on 9/11. Also, Pentagon City is full of asshats who won't do cash-back.

So...5.9 earthquake hit, and my first reaction is "goddammit, I hope my stuff doesn't get damaged."

The weather in Irvine and San Fransisco is almost disturbingly good. It's like it spits on all the global warming talk. Hearst Castle was freaking gorgeous, and viewing it during with the morning mist made it look like something out of....I dunno, Silent Hill? I guess I shouldn't be surprised by this, but Borders is closing in its entirety, pending a decision from the bankruptcy court. To be sure, the remaining stores I visited weren't exactly bustling centers of commerce lately, but it's still a terrible shame the offer to buy the stores fell through.
