Now here's an "inner child" nobody needs to worry about :-P!
I still can't really relate to this hobby of yours, but wish you much suspense/adventure/entertainment/success, or whatever it is you guys get out of it ;-).
By the way: I discovered there's a new Irvine out in paperback... They do get weaker year by year, but still guarantees joyful escape for hours :-D.
Be happy with that ...

... my last RPG group doesn't exist anymore. We played Midgard for about 15 years, but then everything changed ...
I founded that group, no problem to "not be the boss" of all such shiat. Some guys were really born "masters". Some were good or mediocre players. Some sucked. Some were -and are- people I really like/love.
Some of that "friends" suddenly decided that I am needless - a guy who wanted to roleplay instead of doing some f*cking powerly-upgrading characters for no (?) good. Whatever - the group doesn't exist anymore. Asshats.
Fark them. Roleplaying is -for me- to develop a character slowly and in the actual environment. No real-life knowledge, no (or less) knowledge abour the rules. OK everybody knows the rules of his/hers RPG system but -please- let the rules ruleSounds silly, yes, but everybody who played RPGs for some time knows what I mean. Especially when the "master" jammed from (historical) backgrounds. I remember the first adventure of a friend (one of the "real ones"), based on egyptian history. Ey, it was fun,
