Back to Normal, Finally

Like most of the rest of the country, we here in LOUKY had a few days of apocalyptic cold, complete with two days of school closing.  The cold came in quick, over the course of a few hours on Sunday, and is taking its time leaving us.  Yesterday we were above zero, and today we were above freezing (by one degree, but after Monday’s nonsense I’ll ( Read more... )

Wow, Hubby is thinking of running for public office?! He is certainly charming enough, hehe :D Are you ready to be a public/political family?

As for clutter - best thing I ever got was a shredder. Oh, how liberated I felt when I went through my own pile o'crap and consigned that shit to the dust bin. Now it won't pile up and take a chunk of my precious weekend time every January :P

Yes! He's running for Family Court judge. Very exciting...or pain in the ass or whatever. He'd make a great judge, but he is dreading the campaign--quite introverted and not at all looking forward to talking about himself night after night. Honestly though, I think the judicial races will be overshadowed by Mitch McConnell's primary. At least we won't have to worrying about tv ad time ;P

A shredder may be just what I need! I have a ton of bank paperwork that is years and years old, but I don't want to just put it in the trash or recycling. Not to mention all that stuff with credit card info etc.

Well, I hope you guys survive the race - and that he does manage to fly under the radar a bit, because politics is just downright nasty these days. Good luck to him!

A shredder is seriously wonderful - definitely something worth investing in if you want to keep your private shit private. They aren't very expensive these days, either. Plus you can shred credit cards and the like! Win-win, really =)

LOL! The two pictures perfectly illustrate what I love about the hoarder shows on TV... I think to myself, "Well, at least nothing in my house looks quite that bad!"

I don't mind going through old piles of stuff. It's an archeology dig or treasure hunt, of sorts. You never know what's going to be unearthed.

Good for hubby on running for judge, though I don't envy what he'll have to deal with. People are bat-shit crazy.

I'm sure Darwin loved getting out for a stretch of the legs. My dogs are a little stir crazy, but it will have to wait until I can breathe again. The best I can do today is taking them to the groomer.

Stained glass project sounds fun and you can tackle the NaNo story one chapter at a time, right? The hard part--getting it all typed up--is already done.

GO YOU!

Ugh there was so much crap--just easier to shove in a drawer than look at it closely to see if it has a purpose...if you can tell by my tone, I am not the main perpetrator.

I haven't done any glass work in years, so it is high time I jumped back into it. I'm completely out of solder, have sheets and sheets of glass still, and I have no idea what shape my lead came supply is in--should be interesting to poke around once I get my work table cleaned up!

It's funny... my home office looks pretty much the same, only not crammed into out-of-sight places like drawers and cubbies. My office at work? Organized, filed, everything-in-its-place! And it's not just the "I'm at work and it must be neat" thing either, since I technically own the place. It's more like, "this is my public face?"

Sheesh, maybe I *am* schizo and don't know it!

I wish Stuart (and the whole family, since that's what a political run takes) the best in his bid for the judgeship!!! Heaven knows, our judicial system could greatly benefit from more thoughtful, grounded-in-reality people!

Stay warm! It was -15F at our house this morning. I honestly don't remember the last time things were this cold, this long. Tomorrow, though, FREEZING RAIN! Gotta love winter?

So very nice to get everything tidied up! It makes me far less likely to put things off.

Thanks for the well wishes :) He would make a fine judge--just need to get there first!

This cold. I'm already twitchy for spring and we saw 40 degrees this afternoon! Freezing rain is scary--stay warm and safe.

I have to say I'm jealous! I have much purging to do. It was scheduled for the week after New Years but a family emergency prevented it. But this weekend I shall prevail!

It was just the tip of the iceberg--I have so much more to do! Months worth of work that should have been done years ago. Our house remodel is forcing long-delayed action.

Good luck getting yours done :)

I know the feeling! Our kitchen remodel three years ago forced some purging as well. Good luck on your remodel!
