It occurs to me, scanning through other things, that there may well just be people that, for no obvous reason, I just don't like.

Which means that, since my Interest-Like-Detector is busted, I may not realize I do not like those people for great long lengths of time ( Read more... )

I mean I do not have a direct connection to it. Where other people seem to have immediate answers for questions like "Do you like X?", I generally have to manufacture them in some fashion -- either through examining my reactions to things, or by carefully weighing alternatives, or through outright fabrication.

I think it is connected to finding my original Interest-Like-Detector too fickle, and abandoning it as worthless due to the lack of consistency. It isn't something I find, even when I look for it. (And I'm fairly sure that is something I should not like, but in my head that's because it sounds like one of those things that I will tell people and they will find piteous or disturbing.)
