Debugging is at least twice as hard as programming. If your code is as clever as you can possibly make it, then by definition you're not smart enough to debug it.
Someone asked me why I commented a lot for anything nontrivial, and I responded "because otherwise I have no idea what's going on" and they looked at me like I was stupid.

But your clever quote has vindicated me :D

Hmm, well now that it's put in context, I'm not so sure if it holds universally. At least it applies to C more so than other languages.
