Repeal of DADT is a fantastic thing happen to the Marine Corps. Currently, there are people of all orientations currently serving, they just have to "hide" it. The truth is that there are MANY homosexuals in the Corps, and those same feelings that you discussed happen anyway and people can't even discuss it or address it. So that same awkwardness still exists, but people can't say anything to figure out a way to deal with it as adults.

There will be growing pains, but it will be for the better! Remember, other countries (ie the UK) already operate with people of all sexual orientations openly and they do it successfully, so we have other organizations that we can model changes after.
