Restaurants are ALL walking distance from the Con Center. Hotels too~!!!

I recommend the Crowne Plaza hotel. It's very chill and nice~!!!! Don't get Marriott or Hilton or you'll be stuck 15 - 20 min (or more) waiting for elevator~~

EDIT: There's a Johnny Rocket's there too~!!! I think Jack in the Box, and McD too~! Not sure 'bout Carl's though. There's also a Walgreens too~! And many other restaurant~ And yes, all walking distance~ :3 The price are fair~~ not like AX ahahahahahaha

Always book your hotel first. And get a badge if you want~ They have nice events~~

I say save up about $300-500. Yes that includes hotel fee and travel fee. I'm not sure how much it will cost to go up to San Jose by car and the parking fee, but about $100-$200 should cover it. the other $100 should cover hotel fee...and you have about $200-300 to spend on food and other stuff.

"And get a badge if you want" lol you talk about it like it's really unnessacary xD
But actually I can't find the pricing at all for the badges..I see that it was $45 if I had pre reg before nov 19 or something, but I think I'm a Bit late for that..

I went stalking the forums for Fanime, be sure I wont stay at the Marriott and expect to use the elevator much. I didn't hear much compliant from the Hilton though, other then just a lot of noise.

On that same subject of forum stalking, I saw a post I dont believe I fully understand on "hotel booking". From what I understand, You are able to book a room right now, with a card (debet or credit) but no money will be taken out from said card, anytime soon?? Because it's "too soon" to have even 1 nights stay charged to you?
Is This True? OAO

ahahahhahaha it is...because the dealer's hall and artist alley is exaclty like AX's...and i didn't go to any panel at all XP

actually. You can book now and won't be charged anything until AFTER you check out. And you can change registration until a certain date...I think mid May is the deadline for any changes.

Hmmm not sure 'bout Hilton though ahahahahaha since most of my friends stayed at the Marriott and the the elevator was crazy..especially on the last day.

And I think the badges now are about $50-ish?

Awesome~

Thanks for the help Aki♥

though im not sure on which registration you're saying is "changable till a certain date", if it's con reg or hotel reg, but atleast you put my biggest concern at ease x3

I generally budget ~$500 for non-local cons for travel/hotel/badge/food/etc. Though $300 should be doable, since there won't be air travel involved.

In general, I think you should get a badge even if you don't need it to get into anything in particular, you are using the space that it's paying for.

As for good anime, by favorite recently has been Jellyfish Princess. Though it's not the best for cosplay. I recently started watching Shiki, though I doubt that's your sort of thing, and also not so great for costumes. Last decent for cosplay anime I think I got into was Durararara!!!
hmm... maybe this is why so many of us are turning to Vocaloid character designs.

Lol that WOULD explain all the Vocaliod variation outfits xD

Ya I dont really want to get in trouble on my first time at the con by not having a badge since it could easily result in some pretty bad experiences..

Though I do wonder how much gas alone will cost, one way.

I seem to recall last time I went, we paid $20-something each for four people, round trip. So... $50 each way?
Maybe more of less depending on the fuel efficiency of the car and current price of gas.
