Day 16 -- Your guilty pleasure show

DAWSON'S CREEK

Here's the thing...I had already mentally written a passionate defense of why Dawson's Creek is my favoritest guilty pleasure. How the show about moody, overly-articulate teens with fantastic clothes, living in breathtakingly beautiful houses on the sea, was NOT just another teen drama. How ( Read more... )

It is all about Pacey. :)

Glad we share this one, too!

Oh. My. God.

Paceyisthebestcharactereverhe'slikethemostfunnysmartsexymanboytoeverbewrittenforprimetimetv!!!

On a more serious note, he was my favorite character from the series, and now I may have to watch Fringe, even though from what I've seen, it's blatant rip off of the-X Files.

You can probably skip all of S1 of Fringe and go straight to S2. It really improves later on, when the characters start to gel more. I get what you're saying about the X-Files, and there are many similarities, no doubt, but you LIKE the X-Files, so why wouldn't you want to watch a show that is influenced by it?

Easy, because I'm a snob. Hey, at least I know I am. And I do not "like" The X-Files, I LOVE it.

Somehow, I missed the DC boat. Was I too young? Too old? Too...what? I think it peaked during my college years when TV wasn't much on my radar? Or high school? No idea. But your mentioning it does remind me of my favorite high school era guilty pleasure: that's right...good old 90210, the original version. Yikes. And then everyone's favorite second hour: Party of Five. Yum.

I can see the appeal of DC, and I'm sure I would have appreciated it for what it was had I not had my head buried in the sand.

How awesome is it that Percy-boy did a fanfiction reading?! THIS awesome.

When Dawson's first aired I was in my 30s, so I guess I was ready for some high school nostalgia? Honestly, it's what I always think of when my 30-something friends start to go on about Glee.

How awesome is it that Percy-boy did a fanfiction reading?!

PACEY. HIS NAME IS PACEY. NOT PERCY. *HEADDESK* You did that on purpose, I know.

Lol, sorry! I think I've been reading too much Percy Jackson to the kids!

Dog House for you, Amy, m'dear! Percy? Bad, just baaaad.

You really should try it some time, right from the beginning, you will have a true love for Pacey after you delve. I mean, if you like funny, smart, awkwardly cute boy-men, I don't see why you wouldn't like Pacey, he reminded me of Bailey, a little bit.

This was my 'phone off the hook show'. Yay! And did we all love Pacey? Yes. And was Dawson a big annoying girl? Yes.

We all love Pacey! Would you like to join me in a lifetime of mocking Amy Poss for calling him "Percy"? (*points up*)

I already mocked her... should we start a chant?

bwaahah I saw that video last night (I was actually waiting for it because I read an article about it a couple days ago). Joshua Jackson is hilarious.

On another note, I couldn't stand Dawson Creek. Maybe because I was actually a teenager when it aired and I thought it was too cheesy. I should give it another try someday.

I love that JJ did this! He's even wearing a Pacey-style bowling shirt.

So where do you know Josh Jackson from, if not Dawson's Creek? Fringe? Oh, I know...The Mighty Ducks? LOL.

YES for the shirt! :D

I've known him from Dawson's Creek even though I didn't watch it...I know a lot about tv shows I've never seen...lol. Although, I always love to watch how a tv show ends and I watched the DC one back in the days...:P

I was in HS when it started as well, I actually remember where I was when I saw the first episode. My Great Aunt's condo on Long Island, I was 15, and I loved every second of that episode. I just related to those kids and their over abundant vocabularies. To me it was like, FINALLY KIDS WHO TALK LIKE ME! As apposed to the last ground breaking teen drama, where every other word out of their mouths was like. I'm talking about MSCL. Do not get me wrong, MSCL was a great series, but the dialog left a lot to be desired for from the point of view of someone who was way too into words even at 11.

Sorry, Viva for monopolizing your thread!!!
