What a fabulous show. Such difficult dialogue to swallow initially, cocksucker, but it becomes so much easier, that you forget it's 'profane' or obscene and focus on the story. Much of that has to do with the acting, don't it?

You're so right about this:

The fact that some very attractive people (hello, Timothy Olyphant!) hide their looks under grime, bad lighting and many layers of clothes just emphasized how important acting was for this series. I think TO and Ian McShane were so awesome, I used to sit and watch them with my mouth open (not pretty when I had food in there). Fabulous, diverse acting. The women too. The lass wot played Alma, the women who played Trixie, Jane, Joannie. Then there was Doc Cochrane ( ... )

Hey chica,

I really need a Deadwood rewatch. Maybe we can coordinate something later this fall(for me)/spring(for you)? How amazing (and different) to watch and know what's going on right from the beginning. It'd be a switch, for sure *g*.

I'm glad you're watching Arrested Development, bb! We have it "on demand" here, and I watch it all the time, really, over and over. Maybe I'm just *easy* because I don't watch very many sitcoms and that makes me easy prey, but I love this show so much. It gets very twisty and self-referential later, which can either be awesome or really, really annoying, and I think you know which camp I fall under.

Yet another series I need to put on my library reserve list. Which reminds me, The Wire season one is not sitting on my coffee table ready to be viewed, as is the complete collection of To The Manor Born.

Whoa! Since a week has gone by I wonder how far you are on these two shows? Excellent combination, btw. Good variety, to say the least.
