When Kairi made a comeback, everyone had to know about it.
Except for the person that mattered the most.
"HOBO!!!"
Kairi was immensely disappointed. How could he have ignored her onslaught of mass texts, emails, phone calls, and posters plastered around the city? Clearly, he was trying to be a jerk. A meanie face. A...whatever she used to call him. Damn, time had passed. That's exactly why she needed to see him:
To confront him.
So there she stood, at the doorstep of a place she'd once spent so much time at, a once-preferred escape at reality. And she was pounding at it with all of her might, trying to go back into that time, that mindset, that life.
And also his apartment in general.
"OPEN THIS DOOR RIGHT NOW, MISTER..."
Well shit, she never did learn his full name, huh? That's something else she'd have to learn, too.
also how long after are we talking.graveshotMarch 6 2011, 22:36:36 UTC
Xigbar thought he heard knocking on his door, and he groaned, burying his face deeper into his pillow as to block out the sound. He was really not in the mood to be dealing with any stupid people selling shit he didn't need or taking surveys or whatever else it was people did at nine in the god damn morning. He let the knocking continue on for a little longer until a familiar voice caught his attention. Or, more accurately, a familiar insult.
Oh, fuck, no, Xigbar groaned again, punching his pillow in frustration before sitting up. His sheets had tangled around him in the night, creating a sort of makeshift toga over his undershirt and boxers. He didn't bother removing the sheet as he shuffled slowly to the front door, opening it ever so slightly so that he could peer out and say,
"I have the worst headache, and you are not helping it."
oh fff. I didn't even get a notif.emo_precipitateMarch 7 2011, 00:18:41 UTC
Kairi, unobservant as usual, just slipped on through the cracked door and forced her way inside the box-shaped apartment. It really pays to be skinny, she snickered, tucking her hair behind her ears. She was going to check out the place, see how much it changed, all kinds of neat stuff...
Except it hadn't changed. The hell was that all about? It was time to focus her attention back to the owner of the...apartment? Establishment? Whatever. It wasn't time to be confused about things, it was time to...
"What in the hell are you wearing?" the redhead blurted, now finally paying attention to Xigbar. It was definitely unlike him to be undressed, and...this new wear-the-bedroom style definitely wasn't chic to her. Immediately, she kicked the door closed behind her in one swoop and tugged off the bed sheet off his body in another.
yeah, LJ's been failing at notifs recently.graveshotMarch 7 2011, 23:24:46 UTC
Xigbar wasn't too pleased that Kairi was ignoring him, but honestly he should've been used to that by now. She was inside the apartment before Xigbar, still trying to blink away the remnants of sleep of his eyes, realized it. He winced as the door slammed shut in front of him, but didn't have time to complain before his slapdash covering was rudely stolen from him.
He turned on the spot as the sheet unraveled around him, and he reached out and grabbed the corner of it before Kairi had completely pulled it away. He tugged the sheet back towards himself, the cool air of the apartment bothering his bed-warmed skin. He felt like a three-year-old who was getting in a fight with someone on the playground.
"Gimme that back," he grumbled, wishing that he hadn't gotten out of bed when he heard the knocking.
ta da! new thread. :D AND I LOGGED IN.fleurclesApril 19 2011, 18:41:41 UTC
Kairi realy enjoyed that motion, Xigbar messing with her hair, even though it meant she'd probably have to comb it into place again. It was relaxing, soothing, and was just one of those tiny signs that he really did care.
As much as an old guy could, anyway.
Despite his age, she really enjoyed his company. Even so much as to buy food. Whatever he wanted, really. Though she joked about it a lot, Kairi really didn't mind saying, "Yeah. That's my friend."But that was enough of the sap. She did need to be serious and content in this situation
( ... )
Xigbar definitely didn't want either of those options, so he grumbled under his breath all the way to his bedroom, where he slammed the door behind him, hoping Kairi would get the message that he was not pleased about being ordered around. Still, he quickly scrounged around his room for appropriate attire, making a mental note to do laundry at some point this week. After slipping on a pair of old jeans and a wrinkled, plain black t-shirt, he grabbed his jacket from where it was hanging on a bedpost and stalked out of the bedroom.
"Acceptable?" he asked Kairi, lifting his arms and doing a little spin so she could see all of it. Not that he'd change them if Kairi didn't approve. A pancake house wasn't exactly high class enough to worry about what they were wearing.
She nodded in approval, laughing at the little spin he made. It reminded her of Cinderella, spinning around so that the Fairy Godmother could see her dress. Heh. Xigbar in a ballroom dress. Too funny
( ... )
Xigbar felt absolutely stupid sitting in a pink Corvette. He'd feel silly sitting in a pink anything, but a Corvette was worse. He hadn't even known they made pink Corvettes. And where had Kairi gotten the money for something like this anyway? Her job couldn't be that impressive, could it?
He pondered all this while they drove in silence (well Kairi could have been talking, for all Xigbar knew - he wasn't exactly paying attention), and when they arrived at their destination Xigbar barely resisted pulling a face at the ramshackle little building. They were going to eat food here? Was that even sanitary? But whatever, free food was free food.
He graciously allowed Kairi to hold open the door for him and strutted into the "restaurant." Glancing at the "please seat yourself!" sign taped to the front counter, he headed as far back into the place as he could, the best seating for having the least amount of people notice them.
"This good enough?" he asked Kairi, gesturing to the booth like he cared about her opinion. As if.

This had better be productive.
