I feel the need sometimes to call people out more than I do heheh. Mainly with artists, having certain naive notions I see through and then getting lost in them and falling into self-congratulatory ruts. Some seem not to take it so well. Oh well. Was once called "the voice of sanity" by a person who now doesn't seem to value sanity anymore because the arrogance that exudes now isn't so much from real accomplishments as incessant sycophant praise. We need more 'that guy''s

Sounds so rough. Have me looking through your journal, it's been a long time since I've been here.
Wood and metal working is a wonderful thing. I'd like to think there's lots of work to be had there, or at least interested people willing to buy things. Will never forget visiting one of the houses in my parent's neighborhood, nondescript on the outside, but all on the walls and everywhere: very eccentric and fantasy swords and shields and all kinds of blacksmith stuff. Somebody is buying it.
I'd write some more making fun of my old game making friends here, but it feels pretty shallow and stupid. I really like them and wish them well. We'll let reality decide who has won all our arguments. Am all things confident.
Yeah, once I start getting things built more often I may try selling them. I was planning on that before the lay off anyway. People see a certain value in handmade things, even if it's just for the novelty. If I can get decent enough at knife making I can probably sell reasonably well to hunters who are looking for something a little different. Swords would be fun one day, but that's a whole other level of complicated, gotta work up to that. As for walls covered and eccentric I pretty much and well on the way to embodying that now.
And on making fun of your game making friends, somehow I think it's only shallow when it's done strictly for it's own sake. But I would compare your teasing more to sparring. It's hitting their weak points with a wooden sword, to make them fight back, make things more of a challenge.
May want to look into going to conventions of various kinds. Handmade hard goods can do very well. (Not sure if you're still living way up north away from everyone.)
And much thanks for that. I'm getting into weird and risky territory again with this intent to review games that otherwise will never, ever get a proper review. But they're more for entertainment, so have to be silly and make fun of the work. It's going to be so tricky, so very tricky.
