BORED

I have this love/hate relationship with adults who write like four-year-olds-not necessarily in content, but in the way their letters are formed.

In the way i’s are dotted and t’s are crossed.
In the way descenders descend and the way words are slanted.

ON THE ONE HAND,
I think bad handwriting is exciting and fun! It’s as if half of an entire ( Read more... )

$hannon,
I'm on it! It might take me a day or two (I let my parents borrow my camera and I have no scanner).

Could you submit a sample too?

I'M NOT HERE TO JUDGE EVEN THOUGH THIS IS WHAT THIS ENTIRE ENTRY IS ABOUT

For a solid year I wrote out every movie I ever wanted to see from every list and book in the university library, cramming every bit of free space on the page with more and more words until they were peeling off the page. It was in a sketchbook, so the columns and rows were all slanted depending on the speed and origin of the numerous additions, though I always tried to not strike through unless I absolutely had to. Once I had exhausted my hand writing after each new brick or so, I would always unfocus and refocus my eyes at the handwriting only because I loved looking at it. The only thing I ever saw that felt the same way was seeing the sky filled with clouds, even on the hottest days, but usually right before storms hit, though I'm probably mixing those feelings up with something else entirely, like the various Act title cards in Breaking the Waves (whoops). The writing stopped and I turned the results, the pages curled up and braille-like on either end, to someone who didn't seem to care enough to keep them, but I'm glad that ( ... )

i like the way you write. the letter you wrote me looked like a sailboat of words. And I've always been a fan of water vessels because of the clipper ship poem in little man tate.

i feel like i've shared that truth too many times/not enough.

They're coming. Submit something, Bui. I think I remember liking your writing. I really love Clean's too. I haven't seen too many other samples, but Emily has ALWAYS written the same way.
