Who: X and Dynamo
Where: Deck of the Robot Ship
When: Mid-Afternoon
What: Dynamo arriving on the ship
Warnings: None
Dynamo swung his legs over the side of the ship, enjoying the feel of something solid underneath his feet.
"Jeez..." he looked at the pretty mangled innertube, "That sea's rough." The long-haired Reploid looked around the ship. It looked pretty extravagant, and Dynamo quirked an eyebrow.
"So this is the Robot Ship, huh? Doesn't look too shabby, I guess."
"Maybe because it isn't. " X wanted to smile, even if he didn't like Dynamo all that much. It was...nice to see a familiar face. Even if X would have thanked the heavens for Zero instead of this person.
"I wonder how you survived for so long in that inner tube. We weren't sure where you were, it was quite a hassle, finding you."
Dynamo glanced over at the Maverick Hunter and crossed his arms, "It's because ducky's a good guy. Does his job well." Dynamo flashed X one of his charismatic grins, but it wasn't full of his usual playfulness. The Reploid was worried about his situation, of course, and didn't like the fact that the only person he knew was the guy who beat him up... twice.
"So what's this thing called?"
"This thing?" X now smiles, "Robot Ship. She doesn't have a name yet... I suppose we're lacking imagination for that."
And, well, since X didn't want to go beating around the bush. "Working for anyone yet?"
But Dynamo was enjoying the small talk, so he said, "Imagination... good thing I'm here. Though from what I've gathered, you seem to be the most uptight guy around here. That doesn't surprise me... don't you worry about your health?"
Dynamo shook his head.
"Man, you don't waste time... no," Dynamo shrugged, "I had just finished a job and was going to get the rest of my pay when I ended up here."
"Uptight, me?" And he's chuckling lightly. "Uptight wouldn't be the right word... and my circuits don't really suffer from being straightforward and liking rules. "
"Flash Man must have liked you for letting you get into our ship so easily..." ...For X it HAD been a little harder, since he was a 'LightBot', but Crash had helped so much with that that Flash had eventually let him into the ship.
Dynamo waited for a moment to see if X was done talking. No lectures, no accusations? Weird.
"No, man. Uptight's totally the right word. This is the calmest I've seen you, like... ever." Dynamo shrugged, At the next comment, Dynamo just grinned.
"Hey, Flash seems like a cool guy. Would make a good drinking buddy if there was any booze around here, you know?"
"...time. It changes people. " X replied, his smile fading a little. " And people change other people, too. "
"..Flash is... " He smiles a little wider, arms crossed. "...Agressive. He doesn't like me, but that's beside the point. He can be nice if he wants to. "
Dynamo pried off his helmet and dumped some seawater out of it back into the ocean.
"Man, water just gets everywhere..." he mumbled, more to himself than to X.
"All right," Dynamo smirked as he put his helmet back on, "How long has it been? How many years? Have you gotten stronger?" Dynamo tilted his head, giving X a wry grin.
"Wanna challenge me? I'm bored, been sittin' in the ocean all day..."
"I'm sorry to dissapoint you, but I'm really not interested. " Years? X didn't count and he wasn't interested in finding out how many had passed anyway. "...altough I should really inform you of the rule that will make your life easier. At least with me. "
"Rule?" Dynamo leaned against the side of the ship, "Aw man, knew that with you around there'd be rules and boring shit." His eyes narrowed and he bit his lip, "There isn't a rule against throwing totally awesome parties, right?" The Reploid wagged his finger at X, "Because if there's a rule against parties and having fun and not being a tight-ass I'm totally off this ship!"
...X almost laughed. Almost. "No. The only rule applies to Crash Man." X put his index finger up to Dynamo. "You're not allowed to touch him. There have been tons of issues around here with that, and I guarantee. If you lay a finger on crash man, you'll see oblivion for the third time. "
A smile. "You can throw as many parties as you want. Just. Don't touch Crash Man."
"X, I escaped before you sent me to oblivion. Every time," Dynamo's smile widened, "But I wouldn't worry. I talked to Crash on LiveJournal. Kid seems nice, little bit of a Napoleonic complex though..." Dynamo shrugged.
"If it's botherin' you so much maybe you should find a ship where it's safe to pick up soap on." He chuckled, wondering if X would get the statement.
"....Yes, it's perfectly safe to pick up soap here. Don't worry about that... you don't have to, you're not Crash Man. " X sighs, closing his eyes for a few seconds. "...You're not bothering us, although the decision of having you here isn't entirely mine. You know what I'd do if it was up to me. "
"..but it's nice to see a familiar face."
Dynamo's smile disappeared.
"Yeah, I know what you would've done, X. You probably would've picked me up still. We may not get along, but you're too goody-goody to let anyone actually DIE on your watch."
Dynamo turned to look out at the sea, still speaking, "And I said before, don't worry about Crash Man. I prefer babes, you know?"
"...you're right..."his smile dissapeared, too, but at Dynamo's next sentence, X wanted to snicker. but he didn't. "At the moment, he IS a babe. Just until next wednesday though...even if I think he likes it better like this. " He simply smiled.
Dynamo whirled around and blinked a few times.
"He's a WHAT?"
The Reploid stared, "How did that happen?! Did that weird doctor guy Flash mentioned before decide to convert his bots into babes or something?!" Dynamo rubbed the back of his head.
"I prefer my babes a little taller anyway..." he mumbled.
"He's taller than me. So I'm sure... you'll like him." X shifted his weight more to his other leg. He was actually surprised that Dynamo didn't notice that X's voice had changed, too... but he'd leave it to Dynamo to find that out by himself. "Weird Doctor? You mean Doctor Wily? He's just the one that created them. Crash transformed into a girl by eating half of a pink banana."
"Sure looked like a kiddo from his... her... tch, whatver... from his pictures," Dynamo waved his hand, rolling his eyes at his own confusion. He then stopped, scratching his nose, "So eatin' things here makes you weird? And it affects Reploids, too?! Man, I don't wanna grow a pair of breasts or have a second arm sprouting out of my stomach or something!"
"All of the wily bots are taller than I am. " Then again, it's not hard. " You have to be very careful with what you eat, around here... I didn't think it would have any effect on m-.. on robots. " oops, he had almost said it. X covered that with a chuckle. "Weird coloured fruits, as tasty as they might seem, can make you turn into a girl, a baby... the effects are temporary, though. "
Dynamo scratched his nose again, looking up absent-mindedly.
"I'd make a pretty damn cute baby... wouldn't be able to enjoy livin' life as much, though."
Dynamo paused, and slowly put his eyes back on X.
".... You say Crash Man ate one half, right?" He squeezed his lips shut, trying to hold back a giggle as he slowly pointed towards X.
"D-D-Did you eat the other half, X?!"
"...Took you long enough to find out. " X replied, sighing once more, his arms un-crossing, one of his hands being placed at his hip. "It isn't important, honestly. It's going to end next wednesday, so..."
X really should be worried about what Dynamo would think, but on the other hand, since it was only temporary, it wasn't worth it...
Dynamo let out another chuckle before giving X a thumbs up.
"You make a cute girl, X. Too bad you're so uptight!" He gave a shrug, then, "And excuse me for not staring at your hips... Miss X. I didn't miss you that much." Dynamo walked a few steps down the ship, still looking around.
"Mental Note: avoid pink banana."
" X sighed, his armour feeling terribly tight around his chest. That's why he now didn't wear it, but what could he do, now, anyway? "And I'm not uptight."
"And blue melons, unless you want to become that damn cute baby." X follows after Dynamo~
"Thanks for the warning, Miss X," Dynamo walked up a few of the steps to get a better look at the mast, "I don't think you'd make a very good mother for me. I don't follow the rules, remember?"
He peeked up at the crow's nest, "Wow, just like in a movie."
As for the 'uptight' comment, Dynamo didn't even reply. It was just a fact to him.
"If you were a baby, you'd have no choice but to follow them." X follows, smiling. "Don't call me Miss X. "
Even if it did sound like some name out of a human spy movie. " Yeah. Humans make great things. Like in movies."
"Don't know what I'd do without a good movie every now and then," Dynamo crossed his arms, "That Sigma guy... yeah, the humans treat us like crap sometimes... but they also did good things, you know?" Dynamo looked back at X, "I guess I'm just preaching to the choir."
Dynamo sat on some of the wooden steps, leaning back to still gaze up, "If I were an intelligent guy I'd say that that was why I am in the gray." He shrugged.
"But it's not," he stated, his voice flat.
He sat still for a moment before suddenly grinning, "It's because I like to have fun."
"You do what you want to do. " X smiles, placing his arms behind his back. "If you like living in the gray, then you should. Taking no sides is good, sometimes."
"...they made us. I'm thankful for that."
Dynamo glanced up at X, raising an eyebrow behind his visor.
"What?" he stared, "No justice speech? No saying that it's wrong that I do bad stuff for money sometimes?" Dynamo looked at the floor inbetween his feet.
"I think you've forgotten who you're talking to, X."
"No use in preaching to someone who won't listen. " X sat beside Dynamo. "...from what I've learned here... surviving is more important than justice, sometimes. Even though I don't have to necessarily like the fact that you do 'bad stuff' for money."
Dynamo looked at the smaller Reploid and gave a slight grin, "Never expected to hear you say something like that, X. I guess this place really has changed you." There was a breeze, and his hair ruffled slightly-- one strand caught him under the nose, and made him sneeze.
"The air here is salty, I can smell it... I guess this isn't really a dream after all, huh."
"Justice is blind. I'm not. " X chuckled at that, smiling afterwards, looking at the sea.
"Being stranded in the middle of the ocean with nothing but a rubber ducky inner tube...sounds like a dream to me."
"Yeah... a dream..." Dynamo looked pensive before he said, "You know, all those justice statues in court rooms and stuff... she's kinda hot."
