BACKGROUND:
Kanou Haruhiko, at first glance, is your average seventeen year old boy. Trying his best to study for his tests, going to school every day, containing within him a special fondness for the female body, skipping the occasional class to make enchanted weapons and fight demons, all of that good stuff. Oh, did I mention a voluptuous demon woman that looks exactly like Haruhiko’s science teacher and childhood friend Yuka - who he’s pretty much in love with - wants to do anything necessary to remove his soul from his body and put the soul of her lover - who happens to look just like an older version of himself - inside of him?
I didn’t? Well here’s the story. Haruhiko was once an average teenager, for the most part. Ever since he’d become good at nearly anything mechanical, for the sake of helping Yuka who was horrible with those kinds of things, he’d had a great affinity for that. Then one day, out of nowhere, a scantily clad Yuka lookalike being chased by a demon falls on top of him. Her name is Eukanaria and she’s come for Haruhiko’s soul. Why? Because his body is a perfect receptacle for the soul of her once upon a time lover, Fulcanelli. Haruhiko, like any sane person would, refused outright; before she even finished asking him.
And thus Haruhiko is dragged into the world of Enchanters. What are Enchanters, exactly? They are beings (who for some reason all have heterochromatic eyes) who enchant various tools and items for whatever purpose their powers can manage to permit. This can go from anywhere to healing water, a stone that can give you wings, x-ray specs, or even - according to Parcelus - a tool to make women feel so hot they need to remove their clothing, should teenagers such as our beloved Haruhiko evolve past the need for nudie mags.
Now why would anyone agree to getting involved in all of this? Well, Haruhiko has quite a few reasons. First of all, he loves mechanics and tinkering. So already relevant to his interests there. Second, with Eukanaria around, and the fact Fulcanelli’s powers went inside of him, he doesn’t really have much of a choice but to put those powers to use. But third, demons from all around happen to love mature women who happen to be pure, untouched. If you get where I'm going with that. And as fate would have it, Haruhiko’s beloved science teacher fit’s the bill perfectly, and while normal Enchanters would just leave the demons to their business, Haruhiko isn’t the type to let someone he cars about get impregnated and/or killed by a monster.
And not only must Haruhiko deal with this new second life of his, but there is the constant “threat” of his new roommate Eukanaria wanting to rid him of his soul. There are four known ways of soul stealing, the first three are relatively obvious compared to the dangerous fourth. What is this dreaded fourth kind, you ask? Well it seems, that at a certain point during sexual intercourse, one’s soul is ripe for the picking! Imagine that!
And that's where the author's pet name for Haruhiko, "The Virgin", arose! By the way, in case the question’s risen, as I’m sure it has, no, this isn’t a porno manga. Though it’s definetely got more than it’s share of fan service. About five times more.
