Back to school and work!

While everybody else is unhappily dragging themselves back to work, I was looking forward to today. I have two weeks off before classes start back up, and STUFF TO DO. I have sewn while waiting for jury duty - but was reduced to using my teeth to cut the thread, as scissors weren't allowed in the courthouse and I didn't have one of those nifty TSA-allowed thread snippers. But I found that it was easier on me to bring my books on the other days - one researchy one, and one fiction. That way I could block out the sound of the (stupid) TV shows endlessly running in the waiting area.

I usually take a nail clippers on planes, I figure I can do that at the courthouse. I just have to get some project to the point of needing a lot of handwork. TV shows? Ugh. I hate TVs in waiting rooms - I can't focus on reading with a tv droning on.

I've done some sewing while waiting for jury duty. I suggest a mix of reading and sewing, because the chairs are uncomfortable.

More than one thing is probably a good idea, just in case something fails.

Do you think you can get sharp pointy things past security in the courthouse?

I'd plan on a book. But then again, I'm much more comfortable reading in public than sewing in public.

No idea. But I'd take in a nail clippers. No problem sewing in public. It's the only thing that got me through psych class!

The last time I had Jury Duty (PG County) I split my time between knitting and reading.
