On 1 and 2 August, I attended the PR 2.0  conference cum workshops organised by the Institute of Public Relations of Singapore (IPRS).

Many people, including colleagues and blogger friends asked me what i thought about the conference, so here're some general thoughts...

Nice To Meet You Too anonymous August 4 2007, 00:20:17 UTC
Hi Priscilla,

It was a pleasure to meet you too. There are lots of exciting things happening in the new media space and opportunities for publicists, but somehow I sense a divide and a gap that exists. I have some thoughts about this and may put up a post eventually, but it has something to do with the different worlds that old media folks and new media folks exist in.

BTW, in the spirit of reciprocity, I have placed a link to your blog. Let me know when you update them. :)

Hey Walter, thanks for the link. I am still in process of moving my blogs. Meantime, I am blogger here at LiveJournal for a while, basic and no fancy frills but good for now till the new one gets up and running. Shall alert you again when that happens (hopefully soon).

There is definitely that great "knowledge" divide. Communicators who work in the media space NEED to really step up, move quickly before we are obsolete.

Hi Priscilla, thanks for the comment you left on my blog. =) Nice to see more PR folks with such keen interest in the social media. Don't think I've ever met you in person. Hope to do so someday.

As I have mooted before (both Ben and Melvin would have heard it), we should start a Singapore based PR/ Marketing bloggers club or fraternity of sorts. If you guys are game, I can create a google group and we can start to invite folks to join in. This can be a great platform for both inhouse and agency based PR hacks to share thoughts, ideas, and experiences (subject to confidentiality issues of course) on blogging.

Thus far, I do know the following who are PR bloggers but I am sure there are more:
1) Ben Koe
2) Aaron
3) Melvin Yuan
4) Ian McKee
5) Priscilla Charis
6) Walter
7) Andrew Peters (AP Link)

What do you think?

Sounds like a good idea! I am also searching around for some other PR bloggers. I've just registered www.priscillatan.com! In the process of moving over...

Let me know what others think...
