I saw The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. I thought it was pretty glorious. And Lucy/The Beavers/Aslan were vast improvements from ye ol' BBC vers. I felt they could have fleshed her character out better, like explaining how she was half giant and half jinn, in which case she should have looked bigger in relation to everything else. Also flashes to how she became evil because Aslan ate her puppy...its in the book...I swear...towards the back. IT WAS!

I haven't seen the movie yet, which probably means my opinion counts double. I think that the witch couldn't possibly get better than the Original, BBC bred, Barbra Kellerman, because she was totally the first lady i ever had a crush on...honest. PLUS i read an interview in which Tilda Swinton was asked where the WW drew her source of evil, and she was like "I don't really think it's established, so I just played on the fantasy of it" or something...NOT ESTABLISHED? that clearly means she acted in the movie without reading all of the books (pity the poor cabbie anyone, magicians neph? horse and his B? clearly orgins are established). all this to say, my expert opinion (which is completely unihindered by not having watched the new narnia) is that NO WOMAN could surpass barbara kellerman as the white, green, and all other witches for all time ever.
