Sleazy junk mail

We got some junk mail from "St Matthew's Church" this week.

This is prosperity-gospel-take-your-money stuff at its wildest. It includes a "Prayer Rug" and a "Secret Prophecy." And promises that sending them a "seed" of money will result in you getting bazillions of dollars in the mail. Talk about a black eye for Christianity. Yuck.

We got that same mailing while living in the one of the richest counties in the country, so maybe they're not so targeted...

Yeah, I got a laugh at it, but hate that it's being sent out in the name of Christianity.

I got it too! So.. weird. The little envelope that "must not be opened" until you use the prayer rug and send it on? Yeah, I opened it. I was fascinated by how over the top it all was, but couldn't bring myself to read it all the way through for all the CAPS and underlines.
