Pet Peeve - Snot Snorking. This is something I’d forgotten about with the end of winter but it seems to be alive and well in the middle of a Vermont summer. My sister tells me she has to deal with on a regular basis

Yeah, I know what you mean. I'm an elementary school art teacher, and I run into this problem a lot with my students. The good news is, I like to think I'm doing my part to help prevent this problem for future generations. When I hear a child doing this, it doesn't matter if I'm in the middle of a lecture or what, I just stop what I'm doing and say, "Hey, go blow your nose!" I, too, am not a big fan of public nose blowing, especially where people are dining. Being an allergy sufferer myself, I always make a point to not only leave the dining table, but leave the room when I need to "honk". Some people have no tact or respect for other people's appetites.

I'm glad to hear that you are doing your part to nip this thing in the bud. Maybe you can do something about slurping too.
