Watching BS2 news over breakfast has become an interesting morning routine. I turn on the Japanese voice-over for Al-jazeera, 'Deutsu' ZDF, Korea (Kankoku) KBS and China TV, enjoying the English of Hong Kong's ATV and Singapore's news. This morning was pretty depressing viewing, though, the entrails of doomsay about North Korea (kita chousen)'s

There's a passage in the Wittgenstein lectures on aesthetics about comparing how we talk about art and how we talk about a cup of coffee. Might be worth looking up if you're interested in that sort of aesthetics. Not really my thing (if I remember correctly Wittgenstein ends up with some kind of conclusion that completely ignores the relationship between art and history, and as such treats aesthetic judgment as a pure analytic.That being said it's 2am on a Saturday night and I don't remember these things clearly.)
