Ficathon 2012 Entry 1: When the Man Comes Around

Jan 24, 2013 09:18

Ok, it's kind of late, but better late than never, yes? This is one of two (heavily edited!) fics I submitted for the awesome, amazing, brilliant 2012 ficathon. I'm not posting up A Vampire Apology until I find the time to add in another scene, so it may be a little while to wait for that one... *le sigh ( Read more... )

character: kunzite, event: ficathon 2012, timeline: modern day, fandom: sailor moon, character: minako/venus

The imagery...the poetic wording...the unbearable sadness. Don't mind me, I'll be weeping in the corner. Basically you took redemption and made something truly incredible. I don't think I'll ever look at the word the same way.

(And PS, completely unrelated - let's meet up on IM soon to chat. I see you pinning when I'm bored at work - not stalking you, I promise!). :)

You are making me blush, lady.

Also YES! Let's chat more often, we're practically in the same time zone, and we both love pinterest and reading things written by you (well *I* definitely do...) so there is LOTS to talk about.

Also, your pinterest boards? So freaking pretty. I want to read this Fates thing you are pinning, where can I find it? Tell me more!

K - I'm 'training' this Sun/Mon, but will look for you later next week. :)

Ah, the Fates. Basically, a book I wrote in 2009 (?) that is my life's work and its (rather terrible) sequel. Not ready to be published just yet. Premise runs something like: "What if the Fates never cut your string?" Think Dan Brown, but written in first person and with a female protagonist who is 3,000 years old. :)

Later in the week, I'm totally holding you to that!

So Fates is basically Dan Brown, but good? Sign me up to reading that!!!

I need to call my mother and tell her I love her. Gaaaah, this is so sad!

Not only that Kunzite sacrifices himself for his brothers, feeling that it is his due to the right the wrongs they all committed (trust him to take all the blame), but also that in just that one second where he has hope that an eternity with Venus by his side mightn't be so bleak after all, she changesIt's so interesting that as death, in death, tasked by and with death, he remains more human than she does, but I think that is because she turns from Minako to Venus once the chains surrounds her. Minako, I believe (and yours in particular) is always more human, kinder, and more accessible than Venus ever was and it is something that Kunzite has to learn the hard way once more ( ... )
